The song by Peter Gabriel’s music video was for its time revolutionary in terms of the use of special effects. Its use of claymation, pixilation, and stop motion animation gave this video a place in music video history. It won a nine MTV Video Music Awards in 1987, a record which is still held today and it is the most played music video in MTVs history. The mad crazy movements create a chaotic effect and it takes the explicitness out of the lyrics.
